Zach Braff’s Kickstarter Movie Releases Trailer

Yes, we were all excited that “Veronica Mars” got a movie follow-up thanks to Kickstarter. But c’mon Braff. You are a multi-millionaire with dozens of multi-millionaire friends. So fans were somehow less excited by his Kickstarter campaign to produce his own movie.

Regardless, he did it. Zach Braff ended up collecting  $3.1 million in fan money to make his movie, Wish I Was Here. Then he sold it to Focus Features at Sundance for another cool $2.7 million.

However, if you ask me, the film sounds like a generic plot to almost every movie ever. See below:

Director Zach Braff’s follow-up to his indie breakout hit “Garden State” is a comedy telling the story of a thirtysomething man who finds himself at major crossroads, which forces him to examine his life, his career, and his family.

If you are one of the thousands that backed his film with $100 or more in donations, you will receive invitations to an advance screening. If you donated less than that, then I suppose you don’t get anything?

Wish I Was Here releases in theaters on July 18. You can watch the trailer below:
