Sarah Silverman to Star in HBO Comedy Pilot

Sarah Silverman has reportedly signed on to star in the currently untitled pilot for HBO. According to a report from Variety, she will play “a pathologically honest woman having a modern mid-life crisis.”

The comedy series will be scripted by Lucy Prebble who is most known for her work on “Secret Diary of a Call Girl.” She will executive produce with Silverman, Ash Atalla, Amy Zvi and Dan Hine.

Silverman previously starred in three seasons of “The Sarah Silverman Program” for Comedy Central, and has had guest spots on shows like “Masters of Sex,” “Louie” and “The Simpsons.” She has also co-starred in Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West and provided the voice of a main character in the Disney hit Wreck-It Ralph. Most recently, she had a starring role in the drama I Smile Back, about a wife and mother who succumbs to drug addiction, which will debut at next month’s Sundance Film Festival.

As for her relationship with HBO, she had a comedy special on the network titled, “Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles,” for which she won an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special.

There is no word yet on when the series will go into production or an anticipated release date.
