State of Decay Has Steam Early Access Today (9/20)

Today, September 20, Steam users will get early access to the game, “State of Decay” for only $20. However, the early access does not mean the game is the final version. Undead Labs has warned that it may still crash and at the moment does not support keyboard and mouse input yet. This means players have to use an Xbox 360 controller or a compatible gamepad to play. Undead Labs WILL post keyboard interfaces in progress and use player feedback to perfect those before going live.

Undead released a statement about the Steam Early Access saying,

“This process is not for everyone. Casual players, the easily frustrated, and the short of time should not get the Early Access version. Hey, I am all three of those things, y’all. Those are not criticisms. It’s just that we want everyone to have the experience that best suits their needs.”

If you are one of those casual gamers who would rather not go for the early access, the full version of “State of Decay” will release later this year. If you do happen to pay for the early access, you will get the finalized game for free (with no need of a restart!)

“State of Decay” is an open world zombie survival horror video game for Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade and Microsoft Windows.
