According to an anonymous source, 2K Marin, the developer behind games such as “The Bureau: XCOM Declassified” and “BioShock 2,” appears to be heading to close. Several outlets have been reporting that yesterday’s confirmed layoffs at the company were just the beginning of the end.
The source told RockPaperShotgun that the studio is “essentially” done. Polygon also has a source saying they are “100 percent sure” 2K Marin in its current incarnation is closing.
2K Marin has spent the last six years working on games that many gamers felt were unnecessary or that “nobody asked for” despite them receiving critical acclaim elsewhere.
The studio has not commented on the rumors of the closing.
