Ewan McGregor Joins Fargo Season 3 in Two Roles

The third season of “Fargo” just got a double dose sexy. According to a report from EW, Ewan McGregor has been cast in the upcoming season in TWO roles. According to series executive producer Noah Hawley, season 3 will take place four years after the first season, in the year 2010.

McGregor will play brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy who are officially described as:

“Emmit Stussy is the Parking Lot King of Minnesota. A handsome, self-made, real estate mogul and family man, Emmit sees himself as an American success story. His slightly younger brother, Ray Stussy, on the other hand is more of a cautionary tale. Balding, pot-bellied, Ray is the kind of guy who peaked in high school. Now a parole officer, Ray has a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt, and he blames his brother, Emmit, for his misfortunes.”

Hawley has also revealed that another character from the first season would be returning in the third season but it has not been revealed who that may be.

“As far as I know, there is one [character returning],” FX president John Landgraf previously said at TCA. “That doesn’t mean [Hawley] might not change his mind and there might not be more.”

“Fargo” season 3 will begin production later this year and will premiere on FX in 2017.

Ewan McGregor Wants to Do a Star Wars Spin-Off Film as Obi-Wan

With all the new “Star Wars” films popping up, its not surprising that some of the old stars are starting to express their desire to return to the franchise. I mean it is a pretty great franchise. Ewan McGregor recently revealed he was willing to return to the universe as his character Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Considering his character in the second trilogy is dead, this would have to mean that Obi comes back in one of the spin off films or even Anthology series, perhaps even have him return in a film set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

McGregor was quoted saying,

“I’d be happy to do the story from episodes three where I finish up and Alec Guinness starts.”

Personally, any film with McGregor in it would be awesome. He was easily one of the best things in those later films. There is also potential for a lot of cool story considering the events between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope for Obi are pretty unknown.

The first anthology film, titled Rogue One, is set for a 2016 release, between the releases of episodes VII and VII. It does take place between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, but it focuses on the Rebels stealing the plans to the Death Star.
