BioShock Heading to iOS Platforms

Bioshock_series

Last week 2K Games teased that something new was coming for “BioShock.” Unfortunately, it is not a new game. What it does mean is that the beloved original game in the franchise is heading over to iOS platforms.

Later this summer, “BioShock” will release on iPhone and iPad though there is no specific date just yet. The touch-screen controls will definitely take some practice. Left screen touching is movement while right screen touching is shooting and aiming. Graphics will not look as they do on the original console version as they transition to mobile platforms. However, the iOS game will come with a digital art book.

The official price has not been announced but it has been described as a “premium-priced mobile game.” The mobile version was developed by 2K China.

Microsoft Office Comes to iPad

MicrosoftOffice

Microsoft Office has finally come to iPad. iOS users can now get Word, PowerPoint, and Excel designed “from the ground up” for the tablet. The best part is that users will not be required to use a keyboard or mouse to operate the apps.

Content and formatting of Office documents will be maintained whether you access them via computer, tablet, or phone. Documents can also be retrieved and accessed easily through Microsoft’s cloud service OneDrive.

The Office apps have both free and paid versions, downloadable via the App Store. The free version will allow users to read and view their documents; the paid version, accessible via an Office 365 subscription, will go one step further by allowing users to edit their documents. Subscribers can install Office for iPad on up to five devices, in addition to the five copies available for PC and Mac.

“This isn’t simply Office on another device,” Microsoft said in their announcement. “We thought a lot about what people want to do when they’re on their tablet, iPad functionality, and touch-first when we were building Office for iPad.”

Additionally, Office Mobile – which was previously free to Windows Phone users – is now also free for those using iPhones and Android devices.

Office for iPad is available for iPads running iOS 7.0 or later.
