State of Decay Heading To PC This Year

state of decay

State of Decay has been on everyone’s lips, especially those who are trying to fill the void in their hearts that occurs when you finished The Last Of Us. The  game from XBLA was a surprising hit that has already sold over a half million copies since launching in early June, 2013. Thankfully, PC gamers will get their chance to play it … sometime this year. The founder of Undead Labs, Jeff Strain, recently confirmed their plans to bring the open world zombie survival horror video game to PC as soon as possible this year during a recent lifestream.

The game will launch as part of Steam’s Early Access program and will initially only have controller support. The final PC version will support mouse and keyboard. Currently,  State of Decay is only available for Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade and Microsoft Windows.

Strains also teased players by commenting on the upcoming sandbox mode. He said,

“The goal of sandbox is to provide an unbounded experience, one with no victory condition that ends the game. The way we do that is to continue to have a world with finite resources, but find out ‘how long can I stay alive.”

More information of the sandbox mode will be released by Undead Labs sometime in the next week.
