Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Pictures announced their plans for a new horror franchise after the box office success of the Insidious films. Deadline reported that the production company has already signed on Aaron Eckhart to lead the first upcoming film entitled Incarnate.

Incarnate will be directed by Brad Peyton and follows an exorcist (Eckhart) who comes up against an evil from his past when he uses his supernatural skills to enter the subconscious of a nine-year-old boy. The script was written by Ronnie Christensen, who is most known for working on the film Dark Tide.

Eckhart, who is welcome to exercise me anytime, can be seen in another upcoming horror/thriller projected called I, Frankenstein.

Incarnate will be produced by Blum with Trevor Engelson, Couper Samuelson and Michael Seitzman executive producing. There is no word yet on other actors attached to the film or when production is set to begin. Whether Eckhart will star in the entire planned franchise has not been confirmed.

I believe in Aaron Eckhart.
