If the name Bryan Singer sounds familiar, it is because he is currently responsible for the upcoming superhero film, X-Men: Days of Future Past. It was announced recently, however, that Singer will be teaming up with Syfy to develop a new series for the network called, “Creature at Bay.”
Singer and his production company, Bad Hat Harry Productions, will develop the 90 minute pilot with Singer and Bad Hat’s Jason Taylor serving as Executive Producers. Creator/Writer John Cabrera will be Co-Executive Producer. The project is from Universal Cable Productions.
The series will be similarly themed after Guillermo del Toro’s film, Pacific Rim. In the wake of the US military taking down a giant, rampant creature – a modern-day “Kaiju” monster – just off the Northern California coast, a middle-management Undersecretary from the California Emergency Management Agency is charged with leading the clean-up efforts as the small town becomes the focus of the entire world.
There is no word yet on who may star in the pilot or when it is expected to go into production.
