NBC has officially announced that the upcoming seventh season of “Parks and Recreation” will unfortunately be its last. It was also announced by NBC’s president, Robert Greenblatt, that the seventh season will have 13 episodes.
The premiere date for season seven has not yet been determined other than it will debut midseason.
“Parks and Recreation” stars Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Paul Schneider, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Jim O’Heir, and Retta.
The series has received several awards and nominations, including a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series, four Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe win for Poehler’s performance, and a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. In Time‘s 2012 year-end lists issue, Parks and Recreation was named the number one television series. In 2013, after receiving four consecutive nominations in the category, Parks and Recreation won the Television Critics Association Award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy.
