In an interesting turn of events, the film that was initially supposed to premiere as part of Phase 4 in the MCU, will now be a new series! Marvel has announced the television series “Marvel’s Inhumans” will premiere on IMAX screens in Sept. 2017 before moving to ABC.
According to the announcement from Marvel, the first two episodes of the series will be shown on IMAX screens for two weeks before moving to ABC. This is an interesting decision because this will be the first time a live-action series debuts this way.
“Inhumans” was originally created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. The series will follow the group of Inhumans, or super-humans with distinct and abnormal powers. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has already introduced the idea of Inhumans beginning in season 2. Whether the two shows overlap haven’t been revealed but it seems extremely likely. ABC currently airs the other popular MCU series, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..”

It also takes our decades-long relationship with The Walt Disney Company to a whole new level, jointly breaking new ground in the industry. We are confident our exhibition partners will be excited to work with us on this innovative launch of a series across the IMAX network.”
