The sweet deals of April are over as the Games with Gold program heads in to May. For the month of May Xbox Live members will get free game downloads as part of their membership whether they have an Xbox One or 360.
For the entire month of May, Xbox One owners will be able to download “CastleStorm: Definitive Edition,” a 2D physics-based structure destruction/tower defense game as well as “Pool Nation FX,” which was also part of last month’s Games with Gold offerings.
If you are a 360 player, you can download “Mafia II” from May 1 through May 15. On May 16, Mafia II will be replaced by Codemasters’ Formula One racing sim, “F1 2013.”
This is the best Games with Gold lineup I have seen in a long time, at least for Xbox 360 gamers. If you are a Xbox 360 or Xbox One gamer than you may or may not know that every month you get 1 -2 free games with your Live membership. These are the games for March 2015.
Xbox 360 gamers from March 1 – 15 get “Tomb Raider” for free. Then from the 16th through the end of the month you get “BioShock Infinite.” Those are some truly great deals.
“#IDARB” is returning for the second month in a row for Xbox One. The second game is “Rayman Legends.” It is an updated version where Rayman and pals on a quest through beautiful scenery and enjoyable platforming.
Keep an eye out for the Games with Gold April 2015 announcements because that month is a Microsoft Milestone. On that date, over 100 million free titles have been downloaded by Xbox Live Gold members. To celebrate, in April there will be four Xbox 360 titles on offer and two new Xbox One games.
Every month, Microsoft gives Xbox Live members new games to download for free as part of their Games with Gold program. For the month of February 2015, Microsoft is offering #IDARB, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, and Sniper Elite V2.
#IDARB is free for the entire month of February for XBOX One players. It is a 2D sport game with a competitive edge and a decent multiplayer option.
For Xbox 360 players, from February 1-15 you can download the adventure game “Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.” After that, from the 16th through the end of the month you can download “Sniper Elite V2.”
Every month, Xbox Live members get free games to download as a part of their subscription service called Games with Gold. The month of January will see the game “D4” available for XboxOne owners, and “MX vs. ATV Alive” and “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings” for Xbox 360 players.
“D4” will be free for the entire month for Xbox One players. The game has you play as David Young, a Boston detective investigating the mysterious murder of his wife.
Beginning January 1 through January 15, Xbox 360 players can download the motocross racing game, “MX vs. ATV Alive” for free. Then on January 16, “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings” becomes free through the end of the month. (“The Witcher 3” releases in May 2015 so this is a good time to catch up!)
October is almost here and Microsoft has officially revealed the free titles for Xbox Live Gold members for October 2014.
Xbox 360 gamers will get “Battlefield: Bad Company 2” from October 1-15. The game is a military shooter with multiplayer maps. From October 12-31, the free game is “Darksiders II,” a hack and slash game but with elements similar to “God of War.” It also has a huge open world element.
Xbox One gamers can get “Chariot” for the entire month of October. This game is a brand new ID@Xbox indie platformer with couch co-op. You play as the princess and her fiancé as you guide a coffin through 25 levels.
The free games for the month of September in the Games with Gold program have been announced. The headlining games are “Super TIME Force” for Xbox One and “Halo: Reach” on Xbox 360. The games are free for Xbox Live Gold members.
“Super TIME Force” is a 2D action platforming title that released earlier this year. It will come to Xbox One alongside last month’s entry “Crimson Dragon.” It is free to subscribers from September 1-30.
For Xbox 360 gold, from September 1-15, you will get the arcade game “Monaco” described as an “indie heist” style arcade game. Then from the 16th through 30, “Halo: Reach” becomes the free title.
Games with Gold for August 2014 is actually pretty awesome. Xbox One players get “Crimson Dragon” and “Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut.” Xbox 360 players will get “Motorcross Madness” and “Dishonored.”
On Xbox 360, from August 1 – 15, gamers can download “Motocross Madness” for free. The game is an arcade style motocross racing game that was developed by Rainbow Studios in 1998. From August 16 – 31, players get “Dishonored” for free. The stealth-action game was originally released in 2012 and was developed by Arkane Studios and released by Bethesda.
Games with Gold on the Xbox One means players get both their games free all month-long. “Crimson Dragon” is a shooter game that is described as a spiritual successor to the “Panzer Dragoon” game series. “Strike Suit Zero” is a story driven space combat game.
Microsoft has announced what July’s Games with Gold will be for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Gamers on Xbox One will see “Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition” and Xbox 360 Gamers get “Gotham City Impostors” and “BattleBlock Theater.”
“Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition” will trade places will “Halo: Spartan Assault” while “Max: The Curse of Brotherhood” will continue to be a free title for Xbox Live subscribers.
“Gotham City Imposters” will be available July 1 through 15. It is a shorter with a sense of humor. “BattleBlock Theater” will be available through July 16 to 31. IGN called it a “satisfying platforming romp.”
June is a very special month for Microsoft’s Games with Gold program. Xbox Live Gold members will get five free games this June while Xbox One gamers will finally be able to be a part of the program as well.
Xbox One members will get the Press Play 2.5D platformer, “Max: The Curse of Brotherhood” as well as 343 Industries shooter, “Halo: Spartan Assault.”
360 members the XBLA co-op game, “Charlie Murder” and Capcom’s “Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition” throughout the month.
June is also known as the anniversary of the Games with Gold program, hence the free-ish gifts.
Microsoft’s Game with Gold program is getting an update in June 2014. The program is finally hitting Xbox One next month!
Next month Xbox One players will get “Max: The Curse of Brotherhood” and “Halo: Spartan Assault.”
If you are a Xbox 360 player, June will bring you an extra game on top of the typical two due to the one-year anniversary of the program. The games will be “Dark Souls,” “Charlie Murder” and the bonus title, “Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.”
Another update announced was that Microsoft will begin selling a Xbox One without the Kinect for $399 USD on June 9. In addition, they are ending the Gold membership requirement for streaming apps, like Netflix and Hulu.
