Rick And Morty Will Be Back In Late 2016

This is fantastic news. Really! “Rick and Morty” ended its second season with one of the most depressing cliffhangers I have seen in a long time so the wait between seasons has been brutal.

The final episode of season 2 saw Rick turn himself into the galactic prison to protect the Smith family. He was disillusioned but knew he was loved so he sacrificed himself. Jerry, Beth, Summer, and Morty were left to pick up the pieces of their life left on earth after the planet was “welcomed” in to the Galactic Federation.

It was then nonchalantly announced during a panel at Miami’s Magic City Comic Con in January by Dan Harmon that fans could expect new episodes of “Rick and Morty” towards the end of the year. Harmon also announced that there would be 14 episodes in Season 3 instead of 10. Which is even better news! More room for hijinks!

There is no official date yet for the premiere but only have to hold out a little bit longer.

“Rick and Morty” Season 2 Trailer!

“Rick and Morty” is one of those shows that is the best kind of ridiculous. It is hilarious and clever and season 2 has just released a trailer that promises even more outrageous and absurd.

The series comes from Adult Swim, which is resposible for a ton of avant-garde shows lately but “Rick and Morty” is an animated series that deserves your attention. The science fiction cartoon series features the voice talents of Chris Parnell, Sarah Chalke, Andy Daly and more. Co-creator of the series, Justin Roiland, has also confirmed that Season Two will feature voicework from guest stars Jim Rash, Stephen Colbert and Werner Herzog.

While season 1 had 11 episodes, season 2 will have only 10 episodes.

“Rick and Morty” will premiere the second season on Sunday, July 26 at 11:30 p.m. EST on Adult Swim. You can watch the trailer below:

Rick and Morty Renewed for a Second Season

Adult Swim has officially announced that the original comedy animated series, “Rick and Morty,” has been renewed for a second season. The incredibly odd series follows a sociopathic scientist who drags his unintelligent grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe.

But “Community” creator, Dan Harmon, is behind the insane series, so… not really surprising.

“I am excited to make as much Rick and Morty as Adult Swim allows, and I’m relieved to be in a time slot of no strategic value to CBS,” said co-creator and executive producer Harmon.

co-creator and executive producer Justin Roiland added,

“I am humbled and super excited by the positive response to the show, and we have no shortage of ideas for future episodes.”

After missing for nearly 20 years, Rick Sanchez (Roiland) suddenly arrives at his daughter Beth’s (Sarah Chalke) doorstep looking to move in with her and her family. Beth welcomes him with open arms, but her unremarkable husband Jerry (Chris Parnell) isn’t too thrilled about the tearful reunion as Rick’s arrival serves to shake things up quite a bit around the household. Rick converts the garage into his personal laboratory and gets to work on all sorts of dangerous sci-fi gadgets and contraptions. That wouldn’t be so bad if not for the fact that Rick continues to involve his grandchildren Morty (also Roiland) and Summer (Spencer Grammer) in his insane adventures.

“Rick and Morty” is produced by Starburns Industries. It currently airs on Adult Swim on Mondays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT as one of the network’s first primetime original shows.
