Captain Malcolm Reynolds (or known by his “real” name, Nathan Fillion) has confirmed to be guest starring on an episode of “Community.” According to Deadline, Fillion will be playing Bob Waite, described as Greendale’s “politically savvy head custodian who’s not afraid to get his hands dirty but is smart enough to wear rubber gloves.”The character will be pitted against Annie (Alison Brie) and Professor Hickey, a new recurring character played by Breaking Bad’s Jonathan Banks.
Fillion has been a notable fan of the series since its beginning often tweeting about it and posting pictures of himself on the set.
Season 5 of “Community” will see the return of Dan Harmon in charge and an impressive lineup of guest stars including Fillion, Banks, Walton Goggins, Rob Corddry and John Oliver.
The show was renewed for a 13-episode fifth season set to debut midseason during the 2013–14 television season.
