The upcoming film, God’s Pocket. seemingly has so many things I love in it. The film is directed by “Mad Men” star John “SIlver Fox” Slattery and stars the late Philip Seymour Hoffman and Christina Hendricks.
And now we have the first trailer from the soon to be released movie.
God’s Pocket is based on the novel of the same name by Pete Dexter. It follows a gritty blue-collar neighborhood where a construction “accident” leads to the burial of a body and the truth.
The film was released initially at the Sundance Film Festival just two weeks before Hoffman died earlier this year.
God’s Pocket also stars Richard Jenkins and John Tuturro. It was adapted for film by a Slattery with a script from Alex Metcalf.
IFC Films will release the movie in select theaters on May 9 before making the film available on VOD a week later. You can watch the first trailer below:
