Hail Caesar will be the next project for the Coen Brothers. The film was first announced almost a decade ago and it is finally moving forward.
The film follows a man named Eddie Mannix in his job as a Hollywood fixer in the 1950s. It was originally reported in 2005 that Hail Caesar would focus on a group of theater actors in the 1920s as they put together a play about ancient Rome. It’s a good possibility that the Roman-themed play will now appear in the story as a Hollywood production.
George Clooney is loosely attached to play the lead role but there is no word on if he still plans on remaining in the project. Clooney has previously said that the project would be the conclusion of his “idiot trilogy” with the Coens following 2000’s O Brother, Where Art Thou? and 2003’s Intolerable Cruelty. He has also starred in their film, Burn After Reading.
There is no news about when the film will go into production or how long we will have to wait for more information.
