We finally have an official release date for Sinister 2, the sequel to the 2012 horror film starring Ethan Hawke. The next installment will hit theaters on August 21, 2015.
The 2012 film followed Hawke, a true-crime writer who moves his family into a new house in order to write his next book. He discovers a box of super 8 films in the attic that puts his family in danger and he must figure out how to stop it.
Currently, there is no word on what the plot will be for the sequel. There are no actors attached at the moment.
Sinister 2 will be directed by Ciaran Foy for Blumhouse Pictures and Entertainment One. The script was written by the first film’s director, Scott Derrickson with C. Robert Cargill.
