We had heard rumors for months regarding the cast for the upcoming second season of HBO’s “True Detective” and finally it has been confirmed that Colin Farrell will officially be starring in the next installment.
Farrell told the Irish paper, Sunday World, that was in fact going to be one of the lead cast members of the highly anticipated series. Unfortunately, he did not release the names of the other starring cast members.
He said,
“I know it will be eight episodes and take around four or five months to shoot,” he said. “I know very little about it, but we’re shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great. It means I get to stay at home and see the kids.”
Some of the other actors that are rumored to currently be in consideration for roles are Elisabeth Moss, Rachel McAdams, Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsch are all rumored to be interested or involved in some way.
What we do know is that there will be three leads in season 2 according to show creator Nic Pizzolatto. He also said there will be a female lead. Here’s hoping it is Elisabeth Moss!
