It feels like fans have been waiting ages for this announcement and when the announcement trailer hit, it showed us almost nothing. Rockstar Games confirmed earlier this week that fans would get “Red Dead Redemption 2” with the above announcement trailer but the teaser shows us very little about what to expect for the game.
The only piece of dialogue we hear—”Listen to me, when the time comes, you have to run and don’t look back. This is over” We don’t know who these ominous words come from but it is speculated that it could be at least said to John Marston as he leaves the gang of outlaws he ran with in his early days pre-Redemption.
Unfortunately we have pretty much forever to wait. Red Dead Redemption 2 releases in fall of 2017 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. (There’s no Nintendo Switch version… yet.)
Rockstar will continue to slowly release information about the game over the next year so this teaser is just the beginning.
In order to make it up to players for the numerous issues “Grand Theft Auto Online” suffered, Rockstar has announced plans to give players $500,000 GTA$. The deposits are set to begin next week.
“In order to keep the current worldwide in-game economy balanced, we will be providing this GTA$ to players via two deposits of $250,000. We will announce specific dates as soon as possible,” wrote Rockstar Games on its site.
The developer also added,
“For players who experienced cloud server errors, connection issues, and lost game progress and characters in these first days of GTA Online, we hope this GTA$ helps to facilitate a fresh start or makes your continued life in Los Santos and Blaine County extra sweet.”
You can see the qualifying details on the offer below:
You must play or have played Grand Theft Auto Online at any time during the month of October 2013 in order to qualify for the GTA$500,000 deposit in your in-game bank account.
Players will first have to install a forthcoming GTAV title update which we expect to happen next week. That title update (1.04) is expected to fix the remaining instances of issues that have caused vehicle purchase loss and will also enable the functionality through which we’ll be providing this GTA$ stimulus cash to players.
We will announce at the Rockstar Newswire when each deposit is made.
Each of the two GTA$250,000 deposits will be made by Rockstar and should automatically appear in the in-game GTA Online bank accounts of eligible players. Beyond downloading the forthcoming title update mentioned above, there should not be any additional special action required by eligible players to redeem.
It feels like every game that wants to launch an online function, should take a few extra days to fix it before it inevitably crashes and frustrates consumers. Like many before it, Rockstar attempted to launch “Grand Theft Auto Online” this week only for the server to go down almost immediately.
According to the announcement made by Take-Two Interactive Software today, “Grand Theft Auto V” has officially surpassed retail sales of more than $1 billion during its first three days on sale.
“‘Grand Theft Auto’ is a cultural phenomenon and Rockstar Games continues to redefine what can be achieved in interactive entertainment,” said Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two. “We are incredibly proud of the extraordinary critical and commercial response to ‘Grand Theft Auto V.'”
Also noticing a bump in sales is likely the Playstation 3 has players buy the new bundle for the title that was released on September 17th after months of hype.
“Grand Theft Auto V” was developed by series creator Rockstar North and is currently available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The title is rated “M” for Mature by the ESRB.
If you were one of the millions who immediately downloaded the companion app for “Grand Theft Auto V” then you may have noticed several issues making both the Rockstar Games Social Club and the GTA iFruit companion app, almost unusable. However, Rockstar has released a statement that they are aware of the problems and are working on resolving it.
So stay tight as Rockstar handles the issues. (Not that you have likely stopped playing the actual game for more than a few hours since you brought it into your family and/or home.)
The companion app, iFruit, was released this week for the launch of GTA 5. It allows players to take care of Chop, the pet dog owned by one of the game’s characters, as well as customize vehicles and license plates for use in the game.
The official trailer for “Grand Theft Auto V” has been released online thanks to Rockstar Games. The highly anticipated game is set in Los Santos, a sprawling sun-soaked metropolis full of self-help gurus, starlets and fading celebrities, once the envy of the Western world, and now struggling to stay afloat in an era of economic uncertainty and cheap reality TV.
