According to the announcement made by Take-Two Interactive Software today, “Grand Theft Auto V” has officially surpassed retail sales of more than $1 billion during its first three days on sale.
“‘Grand Theft Auto’ is a cultural phenomenon and Rockstar Games continues to redefine what can be achieved in interactive entertainment,” said Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two. “We are incredibly proud of the extraordinary critical and commercial response to ‘Grand Theft Auto V.'”
Also noticing a bump in sales is likely the Playstation 3 has players buy the new bundle for the title that was released on September 17th after months of hype.
“Grand Theft Auto V” was developed by series creator Rockstar North and is currently available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The title is rated “M” for Mature by the ESRB.
