Last week, director Neill Blomkamp revealed the concept art from the time when he might have been the director behind popular science fiction film, Alien. He posted on Instagram several different images that he had been working on before the film ended up going to director Ridley Scott.

The Alien franchise was directed by Scott with the sequel being taken over by James Cameron. It starred Sigourney Weaver in the lead role as Ellen Ripley as she fought off extraterrestrials who wreak havoc on the humans who encounter them (and by havoc we mean, murder them mercilessly.)

The images that Blomkamp shared are labeled as “Unofficial” because the director revealed that they were created without any input from 20th Century Fox, who owns the rights to the franchise.
