Katee Sackhoff Campaigns for Star Wars and Harley Quinn Roles

Katee Sackhoff, most of the world’s pretend girlfriend, is vying for a role as Harley Quinn in the upcoming Batman film as well as looking to land a role in Star Wars: Episode VII and a chance to play Wonder Woman. Big dreams indeed Sackhoff!

In a recent interview with Total Film, she said,

“I think I might give away my firstborn to have an opportunity to play Harley Quinn.”

Like most of us, Star Wars has played a huge part in our lives growing up. Sackhoff spoke about how much the franchise means to her and how she would LOVE a role in the reboot.

“Star Wars meant everything to me growing up. Star Wars was, I mean, it was the first time I remember seeing three movies that all kind of went together. It was just an amazing final understanding of what a trilogy was…I was absolutely obsessed, I mean I wanted to be… The sad thing is, I never wanted to be Princess Leia, I always wanted to be Han Solo! [laughs] I’ve never really been drawn to these female roles, but I think that The Clone Wars was so much fun for me to play, I mean a warrior….If J.J. would listen, I would play a rock in the Star Wars movies. I think that they’re fantastic, I think that he’s a great choice, and I’m excited to see what happens in that world.”

Sackhoff later mentioned her desire to play Wonder Woman and how she had auditioned for the part back in 2011 in David E. Kelly’s failed pilot.

“I’d love to play Wonder Woman. I remember auditioning for the Wonder Woman television show and being told that I wasn’t the Wonder Woman type, but if I wanted to play the best friend, I could audition for that. And I remember thinking to myself, ‘You obviously haven’t seen my work!”

LEGO Star Wars travels to iOS Devices

I am not ashamed to admit I have beat the HELL out of this game. I may be a gamer but I can admit my love for the LEGO games. Now, in case you already beat LEGO Star Wars on your consoles or don’t have a console and want a chance to play it, you are in luck. LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga is now available for iOS devices. And it is kind of free even.

The game features 120 characters and 36 levels, though only the story mode of Episode 1: The Phantom Menace is free to play. Other levels and features must be purchased in-game, either individually or in bundles. The Complete Saga is $14.99, while the Prequel Trilogy Bundle and Original Trilogy Bundles are $4.99 each. Whatever you buy, just be wary of anyone trying to sell you Death Sticks.

While the semi-free aspect is unfortunate, I can tell you this: buying the full game is SO worth it. Trust Me.

J.J. Abrams Calls Star Wars: Episode VII Release Date “A Huge Improvement”

Recently, Disney and LucasFilm announced that their highly anticipated film, Star Wars: Episode VII, would open in theaters on December 2015. Previously, it was planned for a summer release but was later shifted by director J.J. Abrams. He has spoken with MTV about the change and why it had to happen.

“I will say that it is an infinitely better situation now than when they were saying they wanted it in the summer. Before I even came onto the project, before I was brought on, they were talking about 2015 and they made this announcement very early on. Which I understand, and I understand why they’d want that, but it didn’t necessarily have anything to do with the reality of where anyone was creatively. So I think that it’s a hugely important thing that that comes first, and that a release date is great, but you have to release something great. So to me, the new release date is a huge improvement.”

Star Wars: Episode VII will also be scripted by Abrams alongside Kasdan, who previously wrote the franchise’s “Episode V,” The Empire Strikes Back. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, with Tommy Harper and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers.

The film will open in 2D and 3D theaters on December 18, 2015.

Star Wars: Episode VII to Hit Theaters on December 18, 2015

Star Wars: Episode VII has received a confirmed release date of December 18, 2015. The film will be also released in 3D. Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams and is being scripted by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, with Tommy Harper and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. John Williams is returning to score Star Wars: Episode VII.

Alan Horn, chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, said,

“We’re very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday film going season but also ensure our extraordinary filmmaking team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture.”

Shooting is scheduled to begin spring 2014 at Pinewood Studios.

J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan Announced as Star Wars: Episode VII Screenwriters

Yesterday, Lucasfilm, announced that screenwriter, Michael Arndt, was not longer going to be a credited writer on the upcoming film, Star Wars: Episode VII. The studio has named Lawrence Kasdan and director J.J. Abrams as the new writers for the screenplay.

According to the official press release, Kasdan and Abrams have taken over the screenwriting duties for the project but gives no reason why Arndt is no longer attached.

Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, said,

“I am very excited about the story we have in place and thrilled to have Larry and J.J. working on the script. There are very few people who fundamentally understand the way a “Star Wars” story works like Larry, and it is nothing short of incredible to have him even more deeply involved in its return to the big screen. J.J. of course is an incredible storyteller in his own right. Michael Arndt has done a terrific job bringing us to this point and we have an amazing filmmaking and design team in place already prepping for production.”

Kasdan has already been serving as a consultant on Star Wars: Episode VII and is described as a “veteran of several classic Lucasfilm productions.” He wrote the screenplay for “Raiders of the Lost Ark” as well as served as a co-screenwriter for “The Empire Strikes Bad” and “Return of the Jedi.”

Abrams is a critically acclaimed director and screenwriter who is known for his science fiction works such as “Super 8,” “Fringe” and “Lost.”

Shooting is scheduled to begin Spring 2014 at Pinewood Studios for an expected 2015 release. John Williams is returning to score Star Wars: Episode VII.

Location scouting, production design, casting, and costume design are already underway on “Episode VII.” A team of gifted artists are working to bring the latest installment of the “Star Wars” saga, including director of photography Dan Mindel (“Mission: Impossible III,” “Star Trek”), production designers Rick Carter (“Lincoln,” “Avatar”) and Darren Gilford (“Oblivion,” “TRON: Legacy”), costume designer Michael Kaplan (“Star Trek Into Darkness,” “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol”), special effects supervisor Chris Corbould (“Skyfall,” “The Dark Knight Rises”), sound designer Ben Burtt (“Lincoln,” “Star Wars: Episodes I-VI”), re-recording mixer Gary Rydstrom (“Jurassic Park,” “Saving Private Ryan”), supervising sound editor Matthew Wood (“Star Trek Into Darkness,” “The Master”) of Skywalker Sound, and visual effects supervisor Roger Guyett (“Star Trek Into Darkness,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End”) of Industrial Light & Magic. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, with Tommy Harper (“Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” “Star Trek Into Darkness”) and Jason McGatlin (“Tintin,” “War of the Worlds”) serving as executive producers.
