A few months ago we learned that the next installment in the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: Episode VII, would be filmed at Pinewood Studios in London. However, it appeared that director J.J. Abrams was unsatisfied with the location and wanted to move it to Los Angeles.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Bad Robot, Abrams’ production company, will be renovating their facilities in L.A. to accomodate some of the production on the film. They are expected to do some of the shooting and post-production at this location. The upgrades are said to include “a green room, sound studios and other new facilities.”

At the moment we know very little regarding the new film. What we do know is that the script is coming from Michael Arndt and is rumored to have appearances from original trilogy actors, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford in older incarnations of their beloved characters.

Star Wars: Episode VII is expected to have a 2015 release date though nothing has been confirmed.
