1998 Mode is coming for “BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea – Episode 2.” Irrational Games announced the new difficulty mode which calls back to the original game, “Thief” by finishing the story without killing anyone.
1998 Mode is similar to Infinite’s 1999 Mode. Irrational Games director Ken Levine said,
“In Burial at Sea – Episode Two we put a focus on balance and stealth mechanics. As we were developing this new style of gameplay, we started to see people self-impose non-lethal playthrough’s. Given the fan reception of 1999 Mode, we thought it would be cool to give them another way to play Burial at Sea that challenged their mastery of stealth tools.”
Burial at Sea — Episode 2 will be available on March 25, and will conclude Irrational’s time telling BioShock stories.
Good news, everyone!
“BioShock Infinite: Burial At Sea – Episode Two” will be released on March 25th! Episode 2 will continue the story of Rapture before its fall featuring our favorite gambler Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth. However, this time we get to see it through her eyes.
“In Burial at Sea – Episode Two, we are delivering a story that involves nearly every major character from the original BioShock and BioShock Infinite,” said Ken Levine, creative director of Irrational Games. “It is a story that will give gamers a new perspective on the BioShock universe and conclude the story of BioShock Infinite and Burial at Sea.”
“BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea – Episode Two” can be purchased as part of the BioShock Infinite Season Pass, which is priced at $19.99. The Season Pass, which is available for purchase via online marketplaces on all available platforms, contains over $35 of playable content in three add-on packs for $19.99, including both Burial at Sea episodes, the previously released Clash in the Clouds add-on pack, as well as the Early Bird Special Pack that has powerful weapon upgrades, exclusive gold weapon skins and infusion bottles to upgrade player abilities.
The first trailer for “BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea” Episode 2 DLC has officially been released. Unfortunately there is no release date for the second episode. “Coming soon” is all we get. The DLC follows on from the sea-bound episode released back in October.
In the trailer we get to see one of our favorite video game jerks, Atlas!
The second episode is expected to be priced $15 like the first, which owners of the $20 season pass don’t have to pay.
