I don’t know about you, but I actually really like Insidious. I couldn’t get that old woman’s creepy face out of my head on the dark ride home from the movie theater. While I will admit the second half of the film pales in comparison to the first, overall I liked it. Thusly, I am excited for this next chapter. IGN revealed the first clip and a brand new poster from the sequel, Insidious 2.
The plot of the film picks up immediately where the first one left off. The first films ends on a cliffhanger as it is revealed that Josh is now inhabited by that creepy as hell ghost grandma who more than likely isn’t going to be baking everyone cookies and reminiscing about the good ol’ days. In the sequel, the Lambert family, now fully reunited, stay at their grandmother’s home for the vacation, believing that their hauntings were over. However, as frightening events occur, including a mysterious voice that whispers on the baby monitor, a smiling woman in a white dress, and voices in the hall, they begin to try to ward off a malicious poltergeist, now beginning to inhabit Josh’s body.
Insidious 2 is set for a September 13 release. It sees the return of stars Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Barbara Hershey, Lin Shaye, Leigh Whannell, Angus Sampson, Ty Simpkins, Joceline Donahue, and Steve Coulter.
