Matt Smith, the love of my life (other than my actual boyfriend, of course) has been cast as Patrick Bateman in the “American Psycho: The Musical.” Yes, this is actually happening. The Doctor will play the lead role of the Wall Street maniac IN MUSICAL FORM.
“American Psycho” follows Patrick Bateman, a serial killer and Manhattan businessman. It is set in Manhattan during the Wall Street boom of the late 1980’s.
Smith is most known for playing the Doctor in the BBC series, “Doctor Who.” His role on the series wraps up during this year’s Christmas Special.
“American Psycho: The Musical” opens in the UK this December. Duncan Shiek provided the lyrics and music and screenwriter Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa wrote the book for the musical.
The story is based on the novel of the same name written by Bret Easton Ellis published in 1991.
