It is okay, Michael Fassbender, I still find you dreamy. The actor, who is set to star in the film adaptation, revealed earlier this week that he has never played the game, “Assassin’s Creed.”
During an interview with The Daily Beast, Fassbender discussed the pre-production of the film, Assassin’s Creed: The Movie.”
“That’s definitely happening. We’re just developing the script at the moment. I’d heard of it but had never played the game. I don’t have a video game player … that’s not what they’re called. [Laughs] I met up with the guys from Ubisoft and they told me the story behind it, and I thought it was very interesting—the idea of reliving memories.”
The script for the adaptation is currently going through rewrites thanks to Oscar nominee Scott Frank. Even if he has not played the game, I am sure he can handle jumping from buildings into piles of hay unharmed.
Let’s hope that Fassbender and Frank working on the project bodes well in the world where video game movies have been terrible.
Assassin’s Creed: The Movie is scheduled for release in June 2015.
