The Simpsons to Kill Off Major Character In Upcoming Episode

original

We all LOVE “The Simpsons.” I mean how could you not? As the series enters its 25th season, executive producer Al Jean has revealed some startling news. Jean has stated that an “iconic character” will be killed off in one of the upcoming episodes.

Unlike most cartoons were death is seen merely as a plot device for an episode rather than an actual character death. “The Simpsons” characters that are killed off generally stay dead such as the season 11 death of Maude Flanders, season 19 death of Homer’s mother Mona, and the season 22 death of mob boss Fat Tony.

While he isn’t telling who the poor soul is, he did give a small clue regarding who will get the terrible fate of permanent cartoon death.

“I’ll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won’t say who it is,” Jean told reporters.

However, this clue is not the most helpful. Jim Slotek of Quebecor Media was quick to point out that almost all of the voice actors in the series have won Emmys for their work.

*Note: several characters have died in the annual “Treehouse of Horrors” episodes but the yearly Halloween specials are not considered canon for the series.
