Remake Of The Abominable Snowman In The Works

By on November 21, 2013

This remake has the potential to be fucking awesome or fucking ridiculous. Let’s hope for the former. Deadline is reporting that Hammer is planning to reboot the 1957 horror thriller The Abominable Snowman. The remake will feature a screenplay from Matthew Read and Jon Croker.

The Abominable Snowman is based on the 1955 “BBC Sunday-Night Theatre” serial “The Creature.” It was directed by Val Guest and starred Forrest Tucker and Peter Cushing. The film followed members of a Himalayan expedition in search of the legendary Yeti.

According to the report, the reboot will be set in present day and involve a group of climbers that accidentally awakens the sleeping beast. Basically the plot of most monster movies.

Currently, Ben Holden is attached to produce while there is no word on who will direct the feature or who the studio is looking at to lead the cast.
