If you haven’t heard of the mysterious and creepy death of Elisa Lam, then prepare to be unsettled. Even if just a little. Elisa Lam was a 21 year old student from Canada who was visiting Los Angeles one year ago. Not long after arriving, Lam went missing, and eventually her body was discovered inside one of the rooftop water tanks of the Cecil Hotel—tanks which were difficult to access and were located in an area protected by a locked door and alarm system. Her death was ruled an accident, but it understandably remains a mystery thanks in part to a video released of Lam acting eerily in an elevator in the hotel.
Her disconcerting death is now becoming a horror movie tentatively titled The Bringing which has subsequently been acquired by Sony Pictures and Matt Tolmach Productions.
The script will be written by Brandon Murphy and Phillip Murphy. It will follow the man investigating the woman’s mysterious demise, and the unthinkable horror he stumbles into while trying to figure out what happened.
