Teaser Images Released For The Upcoming Animated Episode of “Community”

By on March 22, 2014

If you don’t love NBC’s “Community” then you are doing something wrong in life. Regardless, this season will see another animated episode, this time an homage to the 80’s with a G.I. Joe style episode. The animated episode, titled “G.I. Jeff,” will premiere on April 3.

In the past we have seen “Community” go through Claymation, anime, and side scrolling video games. This time we will see the Save Greendale Committee as action heroes. Jeff will be “Wingman,” Annie will be “Tight Ship,” Britta is aptly named “Buzzkill,” while Shirley will be known as “Three Kids.”

“[G.I. Joe] was something from our childhood that was very important to us and we had fond memories of it, and we thought it would be a cool way to do another animated episode,” EP Chris McKenna told EW. “Like all Community episodes, it takes on a certain style. This one has a very specific story reason for it. I don’t want to give too much away, but our characters find themselves on a Wizard of Oz-type journey through the world of G.I. Joe… There’s a mystery that Jeff in particular has to get to the bottom of.”

He also added,

“At the end of a day it’s a Community episode and it’s actually a significant one.”
