Universal Pictures have officially acquired the distribution rights to Joel and Ethan Coen’s upcoming film, Hail, Caesar. The project will feature George Clooney and Josh Brolin in lead roles.

Hail, Caesar follows a man named Eddie Mannix in his job as a Hollywood fixer in the 1950s. It was originally reported in 2005 that Hail, Caesar would focus on a group of theater actors in the 1920’s as they put together a play about ancient Rome. It’s a good possibility that the Roman-themed play will now appear in the story as a Hollywood production.

The Coen Brothers are producing the picture under Mike Zoss Productions alongside Eric Fellner and Tim Brevan.

There is no news about when the film will go into production or how long we will have to wait for more information.
