“Predator” Reboot in the Works!

Predator is returning! 20th Century Fox has announced plans to reboot the iconic franchise with Shane Black at the helm.

Predator originally released in theaters in 1987. It starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers and Jesse Ventura as commandos stalked in the jungle. John McTiernan directed the film, in which Black has a small part.

John David who produced the original film will produce the reboot while Black and Fred Dekker will write the script. Fox exec Matt Reilly is overseeing the latest reboot.

Predator was a blockbuster hit in the box office with nearly $100 million in worldwide grosses. Its sequel, Predator 2, starring Danny Glover, earned $57 million in 1990. Predators starring Adrien Brody and Laurence Fishburne, grossed $127 million in 2010. Later Fox combined franchises with two Alien vs. Predator movies in 2004 and 2007.
