The revamp project for “Reading Rainbow” on Kickstarter officially closed at $5,408,916,utterly  shattering its $1,000,000 goal. Surpassing the $5 million mark also means an app version can be brought to video game consoles like Xbox and PlayStation. Whoo!

Initially, the Kickstarter began last month and almost immediately earned its $1 million goal in only 11 hours. LeVar Burton himself gave an inspiring and tearful speech (that made me tear up, I won’t lie.)

Currently, the Reading Rainbow Kickstarter is one of the top five most successful fundraisers on the site of all time.

Our childhood is coming back, guys!
