“Rise of the Tomb Raider” will release this October but if you just can’t wait for the game to release, DK Publishing has announced that a prequel novel is on the way.
“Tomb Raider: The Ten Thousand Immortals” will pick up right after the events of last year’s game, “Tomb Raider.” The plot will follow the now traumatized Lara Croft trying to save her best friend Sam from a toxic overdose. Lara hears a legend of a mysterious artifact that could not only heal Sam, but also explain some of the supernatural occurrences she witnessed on Yamatai Island.
The prequel novel is being written by Dan Abnett, an award-winning comic book writer and Nik Vincent. The two writers are working with Crystal Dynamics to craft the plot.
The sequel game, “Rise of The Tomb Raider” was announced during the annual E3 press conference. Crystal Dynamics confirmed that the new game is expected to release Holiday 2015.
