J.K. Rowling is at it again with another Harry Potter tale just in time for Halloween. Her next short story will be 1,700 words long and focus on HP character Dolores Umbridge. It will be released through Pottermore like her most recent HP short stories.
Umbridge was the former Hogwarts professor who delighted in tormenting Harry during “Order of the Phoenix.” She famously physically punished Harry during detention by scarring him with a Blood Quill, which used his own blood as ink. While in the novel she was eventually sentenced to live in Azkaban, the short story will take fans into her back story.
According to Pottermore,
“Umbridge is not only one of the most malicious Potter characters—she is the only person other than Lord Voldemort to leave a permanent physical scar on Harry.”
The Umbridge tale will go live on Pottermore next week on Halloween.
