A few weeks ago, three out of four of the main cast was confirmed for season 2 of “True Detective.” Now, the final member has been confirmed y way of Taylor Kitsch joining Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, and reportedly Rachel McAdams.
His casting has been rumored just as long as the others but was only confirmed this week. Kitsch said,
“I’m really excited. I’ve just been prepping. It’s been almost a full year since I’ve been on camera, so I’m itching, man. I’m overdue,” Kitsch said. “You’ve just got to grind it out. Even taking this year off was, I mean you want to work, but you also don’t want to just water it down and work for the sake of working. So, it was tough to sit a year out, keeping a finger crossed that I was going to get True.”
Season 2 focuses on three police officers and a career criminal as they navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.
Production for season 2 is set to begin this fall in Los Angeles. The first two episodes will be directed by Justin Lin. Kitsch has said that the episodes will have an “old school vibe.”
The new season of True Detective is estimated to air in the summer of 2015.
