M. Night Shyamalan is trying again. His next film, The Visit, has released its first trailer as the director returns to his thriller/horror roots. The film is a found footage film that admittedly looks a bit intense.
The Visit follows a brother and sister as they visit their grandparent’s home in rural Pennsylvania. A seemingly innocuous trip grows increasingly stranger as the grandchildren notice unusual behavior by both grandparents.
As most people are aware, the last few films from Shyamalan have been flop after flop. He has failed to live up to the standards of Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense. Will the director’s return to horror be a resurgence for his film career?
The Visit stars Kathryn Hahn, Ed Oxenbould, Peter McRobbie and Benjamin Kanes. It is set for release Sept. 11. Watch the trailer below.
