Get Over a Breakup in 30 Days with New App

breakup

Have you had a recent breakup? Are you still in the “can’t get off the couch phase?” They have an app for that. Rx Breakup, developed by Stila cosmetics founder Jeanine Lobell and relationship therapist Jane Reardon, promises to help the heartbroken get over a breakup in 30 days.

The free app is designed to give people daily tasks so that they do not end up on the couch watching “30 Rock” in their pajamas, eating hot fries while obsessively checking your phone for a text message from your ex and Facebook stalking their updates.

Within the next 60 days the pair will be launching an accompanying social network component for their app, Rx Breakup.

But the app also gives you an outlet to be social with other people going through what you are experiencing. That way your Facebook isn’t full of wallowing while all those happy couples you are friends with look at you with pity.

Lobell tells Yahoo that the app will allow users to post funny pictures or quotes.

“It’s also a way to track other people,” Lobell tells Yahoo. “You can search other people who are on day five, for example, so you can talk to people who are going through the same thing.”

Lobell goes on to explain that the goal of the app is to provide advice for those going through a breakup in a way that is like talking to your girlfriend or best friend. Reardon hopes users will gain a healthy relationship with oneself.

“OK, this relationship didn’t work out, but it doesn’t mean your relationship with yourself can’t work.,” Reardon tells Yahoo. “That’s the most important thing, is to have a relationship with yourself.”

The app also features illustrations from British Vogue illustrator, Jo Ratcliffe.

The app, Rx Breakup, is available on the iPhone and other Apple devices.
