A Study Reveals the Top 8 Cities For Cat Lovers

By on November 29, 2015

This study is the exact validation I needed to solidify a decision to one day move to Seattle. It is validation for both cat ladies and men who love cats looking for a lady who loves cats too.

Recently, a study was done by Nielsen Scarborough where they compiled enough information to accurately determine where the most cat ladies live. The Seattle Times reported that 400,696 people across the country were surveyed on their lifestyle between Feb. 2013 and March 2015. There are almost double the amount of single females than single males that own a cat.

And hey, this is  good news for anyone who loves cats because these are really the cities you will find fellow companions who love your feline friend as much as you do.

Here are the top cities for cat ladies, according to the percentage of single women living with cats.

8) TIE: Columbus, Ohio and Tampa/St. Petersburg, Fla. (7.5%)
7) TIE: Harrisburg/York/Lebanon/Lancaster, Pa. & Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn. (7.7%)
6) Albuquerque/ Santa Fé, N.M. (8.2%)
5) Denver, Colo. (8.3%)
4) Kansas City, Mo. (8.4%)
3) Pittsburgh, Pa. (8.7%)
2) Seattle, Wash. (9.3%)
1) Portland, Ore. (9.9%)
