The List of What Shows Were Cancelled Yesterday

MARVEL'S AGENT CARTER - "Bridge and Tunnel" - Howard Stark's deadliest weapon has fallen into enemy hands, and only Agent Carter can recover it. But can she do so before her undercover mission is discovered by SSR Chief Dooley and Agent Thompson? "Marvel's Agent Carter" airs TUESDAY, JANUARY 6 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on ABC. Yesterday, the 12th of May was a sad sad day. We lost some good shows guys. While there may be hope for some of them to move on to streaming networks like Hulu or Netflix, some are likely gone for good (and others it’s about damn time.)

We lost “Agent Carter” which fans were expecting for a while. It has had low rating for both seasons despite being a fan favorite among, well almost everyone but particulary women and young girls. It was also rumored the show was not meant to go on longer than a few seasons because of where it fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. (though I am calling bullshit on that because I feel like it could have stretched out a little bit longer than two seasons.)

ABC decided not to move forward with another Marvel spin-off series titled “Marvel’s Most Wanted,” which was to have starred S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood and their characters Bobbi and Lance. The two characters left SHIELD in the last season so there are hopes among fans that the duo will return to the series that has been renewed for a fourth season.

“Castle” was also cancelled following the end of the 8th season. This isn’t totally surprising considering recent news that one of the lead stars, Stana Katic was departing from the show. Apparently the network felt without her and Nathan Fillion together, a ninth season wasn’t feasible.

“Nashville” has been cancelled after 4 seasons. Which as a Nashvillian, I am pretty happy about this.

ABC continued their slaughtering of the line up so that they can eventually rename their network the Shondaland Channel by cancelling “The Family,” “Galavant,” and “The Muppets.”

CBS cut the cord on the “CSI” franchise with the cancellation of “CSI: Cyber.”

Then we have FOX which cancelled one of the better new shows of this year. The network has cancelled “The Grinder” starring Rob Lowe, Fred Savage, and Mary Elizabeth Ellis. Bad move FOX. They also cancelled “Bordertown,” “Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life,” and “Grandfathered.”

The CW picked up a “Supergirl” (where it should have been all along) but on the other hand they have decided that “Containment” won’t be back next season.
