It seems like Microsoft can’t scramble enough to get away from the sullied image after the PR nightmare that is the Xbox One reveal. In one of the movies to appease consumers, Microsoft confirmed that the new console will indeed had support for self-publishing developers. They also revealed that the system will double as a development kit in itself.

Microsoft’s Marc (if he started a band it should be called “Mark”) Whitten told Engadget during a recent interview that,

“Our vision is that every person can be a creator. That every Xbox One can be used for development.”

This only one of several complaints that consumers have been outspoken about regarding the Xbox One and now it seems that Microsoft is finally listening. While the small 180 changes they make are merely to save face among consumers and developers, the question of whether the damage has already been done has yet to be seen. The Xbox One will be officially released in November 2013. The effect of their changes will be seen then.
