Square Enix recently announced their upcoming mobile game, “Final Fantasy Agito.” The announcement was in this week’s issue of Famitsu Magazine and it was revealed that the new release will be a free-to-play app for iOS and Android.
“Final Fantasy Agito” is set in the world of the Japan-exclusive PSP game Final Fantasy Type-0. It casts players in the role of a customizable main character who can be outfitted with items purchased via microtransactions. The storyline will feature multiple branching paths, and alternate story routes can be explored after each playthrough.
According to Famitsu, the game will be divided into “solo play” and “team play.” Players will tackle missions based around individual characters in the game’s solo component, while the game’s cast will assemble to battle bosses during team play segments.
“Final Fantasy Agito” will be released this winter. A North American release for Final Fantasy Agito has not been announced.
