During a recent interview with the French Publication, GameKult, famous video game creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, most famous for the creation of Mario, revealed that it is highly unlikely that he will continue working directly on the next Mario games after “Super Mario 3D World.”

Over the past few years, Miyamoto has been taking a less hands-on role in the development of Mario installments. In the interview he stated,

“Creating a Mario of 3D World’s calibre demands enormous energy and there is little chance that I’d be able to take the time necessary to work on the next Mario.

Instead, I want to get involved more heavily in the development of new, smaller-scale projects, but that doesn’t necessarily mean just modest downloadable titles. It’s not impossible that I’ll present a new game as principal creator in the future, but even though I’m not directly in charge of a project, I’m always keeping an eye on what the teams are doing in terms of gameplay and I have confidence in them.

Don’t worry about Mario!”

“Super Mario 3D World” It is the sequel to Super Mario 3D Land for the Nintendo 3DS, and will be released in Japan on November 21, 2013, North America on November 22, 2013, Europe on November 29, 2013, and Australia on November 30, 2013.
