Dying Light Trailer Shows Differences in Day and Night Gameplay

Dying-Light-1

You can now see the differences between night and day with the new trailer for “Dying Light.”

“Dying Light” is a first person action survival horror coming out in 2014. Following a zombie apocalypse, the game features a world separated by light and dark.

During the day, players traverse an expansive urban environment overrun by a vicious outbreak, scavenging the world for supplies and crafting weapons to defend against the growing infected population with a heavy focus on freerunning mechanics. The infected are slow, allowing the player to simply make their way past them, but their danger grows in numbers. Luckily, the player could stay up on roofs of buildings to stay out of harm’s way.

However, when the sun goes down, all hell breaks loose. The infected transform into something much more dangerous. They gain the ability to sprint after the player, and have increased damage, as well as the ability to jump and climb buildings like the player. In order for the player to avoid contact, they need to use their Night Sense to locate zombies in the dark to stay out of their way. If spotted and trying to escape their pursuers, the player can use distractions and traps to lower their numbers.

Can you survive till the morning?

Thanks to Techland, you can now see the difference between night and day. Techland says:

“Slow, apathetic, and easily visible, the infected are not much of a threat in daylight. But this relatively safe state of affairs is turned upside down as the sun sets. At night, it is you who is at a disadvantage. Without daylight, the senses of the infected become more acute while their thirst for human flesh skyrockets. They run, jump, and climb, so there is really no place where you are safe anymore.”

Dying Light is being released for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
