The Nintendo 3DS is getting a new “Final Fantasy” game. According to Jump Magazine, “Final Fantasy Explorers” is a multiplayer role-playing game that is currently in development for the 3DS.

In the new installment, the game will see players as they search for crystals while fighting Summons, which you might remember as the magical creatures that have appeared in Final Fantasy titles since FF III. As an explorer you will be able to level up in a variety of jobs including our favorites the Black Mage, White Mage, Knight, and Monk.

According to the announcement, the goal of “Final Fantasy Explorers” is to defeat the different generations of Summons the player finds such as Ifrit, the fire elemental creature present in several series entries.

Currently, there is no official release date but we do know that Square Enix is the official developer.

In other “Final Fantasy” news, at E3 Square Enix announced that it will allow same ex marriage in “Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.” They also showed two new classes: the rogue, which in turn allows players to specialize in the ninja job.
