It has been about a year since it was announced that Andy and Lana Wachowski would release a science fiction thriller series on Netflix and we finally have the first bit of details.
Deadline received some exclusive details about “Sense8” from co-showrunner J. Michael Straczynski about the plot details and the cast.
“The series follows eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally,” Straczynski said. “They can not only see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, they have access to each other’s deepest secrets. Not only must they figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, they must do so while being hunted by an organization out to capture, kill or vivisect them.”
Reportedly, the series will star “Lost” alum Naveen Andrews and “Stargate” alum Brian J. Smith.
“Sense8” will be a 10-episode series which is planned to be released in early 2015 on Netflix.
