FOX CONFIRMS! “The X-Files” is returning and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will also return to star. (Now if only we can get “Firefly” back on the air guys!)
“The X-Files” ran for 9 seasons back in the 90’s beginning in 1993. According to Fox, it will return for a six-part miniseries with Agent Mulder and Agent Scully as well as show creator Chris Carter.
Carter said,
“I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” said Carter. “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”
Fox Television Chairman Dana Waldman and CEO Gary Newman also released a statement confirming the news.
“We had the privilege of working with Chris on all nine seasons of The X-Files—one of the most rewarding, creative experiences of our careers—and we couldn’t be more excited to explore that incredible world with him again,” they said.
Production is set to begin this summer, though no premiere date has been announced.
