One of the games I am most anticipating this year, “Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture” has officially gotten a release date – FINALLY! The PlayStation 4 exclusive will release on August 11. With the announcement, the game’s official website has now gone live.
Between now and the game’s official launch, The Chinese Room will be releasing more news, including a development diary and a mini documentary.
“Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture” tells the story of the inhabitants of a remote English valley who are caught up in world-shattering events beyond their control or understanding. Made by The Chinese Room — the studio responsible for the hauntingly beautiful “Dear Esther” — this tale of how people respond in the face of grave adversity is a non-linear, open-world experience that pushes innovative interactive storytelling to the next level. This story begins with the end of the world. Players may also have to figure out whether people were actually raptured and if so what exactly happened and led up to those events.
