“Star Wars Battlefront” is one of the most anticipated games of the year and while it is only a day or so old, we now know this likely won’t be the last game in the series.
According to a report from Gamespot, EA CFO, Black Jorgensen, spoke at the UBS Global Technology Conference regarding the company’s 10-year deal with the Star Wars franchise, and what that would likely mean for the company’s development plans.
“Our goal is to make future Battlefront games,” said Jorgensen. “As well as other style games around the Star Wars franchise, both on mobile as well as console and PC. It’s a huge opportunity for us.”
He also reportedly confirmed that the EA deal covers both the prequels and original trilogy as well as the upcoming trilogy starting with this December’s The Force Awakens. He also mentioned that as of now, there’s no plans for movie-specific tie-in games.
“Our goal is not to make video games directly about the movies,” said Jorgensen. “It’s to use the IP in the movie to make great, exciting games.”
Star Wars Battlefront is currently available for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
